Prison Tapes

Screwless transparent audio cassettes for distributing to inmates in prison. You can choose any length from 1 minute to 122 minutes. The length is the total length - 90 minutes is 45 minutes per side. We load to the exact length. You might want to order a minute or two longer in case your cassette deck is running fast.

Tape: Music grade Type 1 normal bias
Cassette Shell: Choose TABS IN or Tabs OUT (you can easily record on these by using tab plugs or scotch tape to block the hole on top of the cassette)

These tapes are used by prison ministries and for sending music to individual inmates. We've found that there is no standard length clients want, so we custom-load these tapes to the exact length you want. A piece of duct tape in the upper left corner of the cassette well does the trick! We also have tab plugs which can be purchased separately.

This is due to a 'squeaking' issue we had in the batch, which we are able to fix by piercing a hole through the back of the cassette and melting the plastic over the metal pins. Here is a picture of how they may appear.

This Hi-Fi tape sounds great, comparable to a Maxell UR or any of the mid to upper grade ferric tapes of the 90s. It does tend to shed a bit of oxide on the first use, so make sure to clean the heads frequently.
