CD and Print Terms

CD Duplication: Duplication means to burn your master onto blank recordable discs CD Replication: Replication is the manufacturing process of making replicas from a stamper and raw plastic. Glass Master: a flat piece of glass mounted on a spindle that is coated with photo-resist and burned by a laser in the glass mastering process Stamper (CD and DVD): The glass master image is transferred onto a nickel stamper in an electroplating process. The stamper is put on the plastic injection molding machine and is used to make replicas in. Stamper (Vinyl): The lacquer master is transferred onto a nickel stamper in an electroplating process. The stamper is put on the vinyl press and is used to make records.


CCNB

Clay-coated newsback, a board made of recycled newspapers with an added clay-coat surface for printing on.


C1S

Coated one-side paperboard


C2S

paperboard coated on both sides


SBS

Solid bleached sulfate board - the typical white paperboard for packaging applications. The board is then coated on one side (C1S) or both sides (C2S).
